Outsiders continue to realize that Reddit's interface is confusing and the community is quirky, but Reddit has come a long way since its inception. One of the biggest advances was in 2016 when Reddit hired a team of about 20 graphic designers and UX specialists to redesign. About a year and a half later, in April 2018, Reddit released a major visual overhaul of the interface for the first Photo Retouching time in over a decade.
Initially, the community wasn't happy with the update. They had been using the same interface for 10 years, but now they had to adapt to something new.
